What a crazy fun couple of weeks!

So far this summer has not disappointed! Scott and I have been having SO much being able to spend so much time together.

The beginning of June my Hawaii family came to visit for a few weeks, what a blast!!! I loved being able to chat with both of my sisters at the same time in the same room. I have seriously missed having my whole family together so I was with them as much as I could. We had way too much fun doing SO many things that it would take up this whole blog if I wrote it all down, just know it was fun!! I miss them already but can't wait to see them in 6 months for Christmas in HAWAII!!!!!

On June15th my brother from another mother Michael Dean came home from his mission in Carlsbad California, I have missed him dearly and I am SO happy that he's back! He has grown up So much spiritually but he still acts like the same little brother to me. We've had a lot of fun spending time together and catching up.

I had to trade my wedding ring this month too :( I was SO sad to see it go, but we we're having too many problems with my little diamonds falling out. We got to keep my big original diamond though and put it in my new band, which I LOVE!!! It was really bittersweet because it was very hard to let go of my first ring but on the other hand we had to let it go or we we're going to keep having problems with it. I'm just glad I have a piece of that ring in my new one so that I never forget that one.

The Stephens family is getting really excited because Dustin comes home for good this month. We can't wait to have him back, and Scott and I can't wait to have the third amigo back!! We have missed having him home and can't wait to have him home!
The Stephens are also excited because Scott's sister and her husband Oliver are having a baby boy in November, I can't wait to have another nephew. We are so so excited for them and the new edition to their cute family.

The BEST man I know

This blog post is going to probably be really mushy and cheesy.

I wanted to talk about my dear husband Scott:
I met Scott about 6 months or so before his mission I remember sitting on his curb while my friend was flirting with all of his friends, Scott walked over to me (cause he could tell I was having a miserable time) and sits next to me and asks "Do you like motorcycles?" I love them! So he got me out of that situation and took a stranger on a motorcycle ride (he almost killed me by the way) We we're pretty best friends after that.. We did everything together and eventually grew strong feelings towards one another, we dated for about 4 months and broke up because he was leaving for two years.
I told him I wanted to try and wait for him, haha but that didn't go as planned because I got engaged and I broke that off and I almost went on a mission but when I got my papers I got a feeling that it just wasn't my time. I stuck around Utah I lived with my family and worked full time.
Scott came home in October of 2009 we hung out the second week he was home, we went to a movie and then went up to the Bountiful temple and walked around and talked and caught up with one another, it was like he never left he was the same fun guy but a little more grown up.
We started dating in December and he broke up with me in January. He left me heart broke because I fell in love with this punk. He felt like he needed to date more and not be tied down to one girl so soon off the mission. Well I started "dating" this other guy just so that Scott would notice me again, and it worked! Scott tried for several months to get back together and saying sorry, but I made him wait and realize I wasn't going to give into him that easily he needed to earn my trust back.
Scott asked me to come over one evening and of course I did because he was still my best friend, he ended up telling me that if I didn't see us getting married then we needed stop seeing each other even as friends.. I ended up crying my eyes out and telling him I don't ever want to see or hear from him ever again, on the way home that night as I was crying I felt something tell me that I was making a HUGE mistake and to tell the boy I love him! So the next day on Fathers day we decided to get married and he proposed on the 4th of July (both our favorite holiday) we've been attached at the hip ever since
We got sealed in the Bountiful Temple on October 10th 2010, we walked in as two different families and walked out as one new one and It's been the best adventure ever!!

BEST day of my life!!
Scott is the most kind hearted sincere guy I have even met, he would do anything for someone who needs a little help or be a friend to someone who needs it. He makes me the best version of myself and helps me along the way. I honestly don't know what I would do without this amazing man in my life and I thank Heavenly Father every day for him and all that he does for me and our future family.

Another semester down.. So bring on the summer!

Well Scott is SO excited to have finished yet another semester. This time It's a big deal, because he finally finished all the math that he needs for his degree:) (I love when the semester ends cause it means I get my husband back for a little bit).
Scott always told himself that after he killed himself doing math every semester that when he finished he was going to take the next semester off so that he can relax and celebrate. I'm super excited because he's taking the summer semester off which means I get my husband all summer long to do things with. I am So proud of him and all that he's accomplished!
This summer will be a good one to take off because it seems like we have a lot going on.. in June my Hawaii family is coming to visit for a few weeks, so we're going to Vegas with them for a couple days and then back to Utah for some camping and hiking and boating and some much needed family time. Also in June my brother from another mother comes home from his mission and we have a lot of catching up to do. In July Scott's brother Dustin comes home from Afghanistan for good, we can't wait to have him back safe and sound.
We have a lot of out door activities to do this summer and I'm so excited to spend it with my lover.
I'm also hoping to plan a family camp out with the whole Carlson (my moms family) side of the family, it used to happen every year since I could remember, us cousins looked forward to it every year. We would pitch a big tent so that all the cousins could sleep in the same tent and stay up all night laughing and playing, we would braid each others hair in the tiny braids. My aunt Angie always had the BEST junk food bin! Our families grew bigger and the tradition slowly went away, not this year because I'm bringing it back!

Reflection

This past weekend was very eventful and amazing for the Stephens family.
First Dustin (brother in law) got home on a Saturday night from Afghanistan it was SO good to see him again, it's been way to long, the only sucky thing is he leaves to go back on April 4th and then comes home for good in July. We have all loved having him around again.
Second Mike (other brother in law) and his fiance Beka got in on a Wednesday for the weekend to be sealed for time and all Eternity.
Thursday afternoon they both took out their endowments in the Salt Lake temple, it was my second time going to that temple and it truly is amazing!! it was very emotional for the family to be able to see them make those covenants with the Lord and with each other. Friday morning we gathered as family and we got to witness the sealing of a new family, (I LOVE going to sealings because they remind me of my own) The pictures were SO cold that day because it decided to blizzard, everyone was wet and cold but we couldn't help be happy for the new couple.
It was so fun to have the whole family together again!!

The most special part of this weekend for me was reflecting on mine and Scott's special day almost two years ago. It seems like just yesterday we we're showing up to the temple as two different families and 30 min later coming out as a new one. We have loved every minute of this journey together. I am more in love with my man today then I did the day we got sealed. He still makes me smile and laugh everyday! I love being able to be with my bffe. I love my life it maybe crazy sometimes but I have an amazing man and partner to make it bearable. I love you Scott Benjamin!!

Today I am VERY excited about my blog post because I am writing about my favorite little person. His name is Isaak John McBride and 6 years ago today my sister gave birth to this amazing little kid.
Isaak came into this world fighting and determined to stay with our family, he was born way to early and still weighed in at like 9 pounds!! it broke my heart knowing that I got to see him and touch him and smell that new baby smell before my sister and I cried when I saw this 'tiny' new baby hooked to every machine in the hospital just to help him breath. Just like the rest of our family he's a fighter and very stubborn. We needed this baby boy in our family and Heavenly Father knew we weren't ready to let him go.

Issak John as I call him knows just how to turn my day right side up, he has this way of making anybody laugh without even trying or knowing it, he is a natural talent as a comedian. He is probably the happiest little boy ever, not much turns that smile down. His laugh is so contagious you can hear it from a mile away just like his grandma Meng's. The freckles on his face (which we all like to name) make him look like my dad when he was his age and it makes me smile. The way he comes and cuddles with you just when you need it and starts rubbing your arm or brushing your hair reminds me of when his mom would do that to me when we we're little. The way he will take on any dare is just like his dad and sister is terrifying!!!! but chicks dig scars.  Isaak is already a family man I think he would rather be playing hot wheels with his sister Autumn than anything I love watching those two laugh and play together it melts my heart.
I loved when Isaak and Autumn came to uncle Scott and aunt stephys house and made cookies and watched movies with me all day when Scott wasn't home.
I think the most important quality is his sweet little spirit, you know when he comes in the room besides the fact the he scream "I'm here, Grammy where are you" right when he walks through the door, but it's the fact that you can't help but smile when he's around you and that makes Isaak our Isaak John. There are too many memories that I can't share them all but just know you are SO loved by this family and don't you EVER forget that!! We love you so so much and can't wait till we live close to each other again so we can play all the time.
HAPPY 6 BIRTHDAY ISAAK JOHN,
I LOVE YOU WITH ALL THE MUCHES

Let's try this again

Well first of all our other blog got hacked into and is no longer in service. With that said I created a new one with the goal to actually keep up with this one so here we go.

Scott and I celebrated out one year anniversary in October 2010, we went to Park City for a night. We went to the outlet malls and went to dinner to a Italian place on Main street where we went on our honeymoon. It was short but amazing Scott's boss also surprised us with his first row Jazz tickets! we felt like celebrities, We got a buffet dinner and treats at half time...we could see the sweat and hear the players talk. It was awesome!!
Scott and I both can't believe that a year has flown by just like that, it felt like yesterday we had butterfly in our tummy as we walked out of the Temple to greet our friends and family. Scott and I have had an amazing year and wouldn't change anything. I feel so lucky to have him as my BFFE (best friend for eternity) Scott is the most AMAZING man, and I thank my Heavenly Father for putting him in my life everyday. I can't wait to spend Eternity with him!!
My stunning gift(I'm spoiled)

Scott and I also celebrated our second Christmas together, If anyone knows us Scott and I don't really do Christmas it's not our favorite holiday let's just say I feel bad for our kids.
But despite the fact that we don't like it was a good BUSY Holiday season. We did family parties and our annual friend dinner it's the best tradition we all started.
We also attend Voicemale Christmas for the second year if you haven't been to that show I highly recommend it, it helps Scott and I get in the holiday mood a little more we look forward to next year. And we scored on black Friday with movies so picked up a few.
Scott and I spoiled each other this year. I got Scott a xbox 360 with kinect, and Scott got me a Paul Milsap jersey new headphones and a gift card to barnes and noble.
all my goodies
early in the morning
Like I said just a few
I'm the best wife ever!
He's the best husband ever!!

Sorry this is a long post I know but It's been a LONG time since I updated this thing.

Finally Scott and I just got home from a weekend in Vegas, a lady Kim that Scott baptized was out there for a hair convention so we decided to make a little trip and vacation to down and see her. I forgot how long that drive is 6 hours is no fun, but it helped having Scott with me. We stayed at the Golden Nugget not the Belagio but we had a blast!! On Saturday night we went to the strip and went to cheesecake factory with Kim and some other kids from Scott's mission. Then Sunday night we walked the entire strip 6 hours of walking I'm glad I got my exercise in on vacation. Monday morning we checked out and headed to the pawn shop from pawn starts (the highlight of our trip) We got there at 8:45 am and there was already a line of about 50 people they open at 9. We were like kids in a candy shop! the best art was we got to see CHUMLEE!!! We saw a celebrity and he signed out bobble head. Man I love Vegas but after a day I'm ready to come home.

Not open 24hrs
